Rosary for Bruce Welch, 68, Tyler, will be recited a 7 p.m. Sunday at Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home chapel in Tyler with the Rev. Michael Doyle officiating.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with the Rev. Joe Strickland officiating.
Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Welch died early Friday at his residence.
He was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Brownsboro to the late Clyde Lee and Era Maude Welch.
He attended Henderson County public schools and graduated from Kidd Welch High School. He resided in Tyler since 1960, moving from Port Arthur. He was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1502 and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He was a homebuilder in Tyler for more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by a sister, Olene Heyder.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Welch, Tyler; five daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Walter Bivins, Darleen and James Loven, and Gaynell and Michael E. Smith, all of Tyler, Glenda and Bobbie Allison, Tullahoma, Tenn., and Janice and Harold Phillips, Austin; two brothers, Wendell C. Welch, Brownsboro, and Loyd Welch, DeSoto; three sisters, Marie Brockway, Chandler, Edith Smith, Canton, and Louise Vestal, Mesquite; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Scott Frields, Williams Downes, Anthony Bivins, Christopher Bivins, Keith Cooper and Michael Welch.
