Obituary in The State, Columbia, SC, 6 Jan 2004: Columbia - Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Morris Corbett, 78, of Columbia, will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, conducted by The Reverend Jimmy Goudelock. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:30 o'clock this (Tuesday) evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Mid-State SC Chapter, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202-7044 or to Eau Clair Baptist Church, 4427 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29203. Mrs. Corbett, widow of Joseph Merrian Corbett, died Monday, January 5, 2004. Born in Barnwell County, she was a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Lillie Randall Morris. She was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church. Survivors are: daughter, Belinda J. Rutledge of Blythewood; sons, Barnard C. Corbett of Irmo and Jefferson M. Corbett of Maulden; sisters, Annie Lou Hartzog and Edith Collins, both of Denmark; brother, Wallace O. Morris of Blackville; seven grandchildren.
