Charlotte Elizabeth Deters died March 3, 1998, at her rural Oneida farm home at the age of 68.
She was born June 29, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Regina Deters Sperfslage, at St. Benedict, northwest of Seneca.
She attended Gage Country School near Oneida. She was member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church at Fidelity, and St. Pius X Catholic Church of St. Marys.
She was united in marriage to Urban Deters on August 26, 1953, at St. Bede's Catholic Church in Kelly. They had ten children. The family lived and farmed southwest of Oneida. They farmed, raised cattle and hogs, and operated a dairy.
Survivors include her husband, Urban, of the home; eight sons, Richard, Oneida; Leon, St. Mary's; James; Oneida; Nicholas, Baileyville; Kevin, Seneca; Ervin, Fairview; Rene; Oneida; Gene, Sabetha; two daughters, Rose Mueting, Seneca; Lisa Deters, Oneida; brother, Donald Sperfslage, Oneida; sisters, Helen Gyhra, Steinauer, NE; Mary Gyhra, Pawnee City, NE; andd 20 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Fidelity on March 7, 1998. Burial was in the church cemetery.
