Mrs. Smith, a homemaker and a resident of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday January 17, 2007 at St. Francis North Hospital. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Carroll Smith; two sons, James Douglas Smith and Rodger Loyd Smith; grandson, Jarred Ray Hemphill; five sisters and one brother.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol S. Churchwell of Zachary, LA, Diane S. Simms & husband Johnny of Epps, LA, Sybil S. Hemphill & husband Jimmy of Bastrop; two sons, Arthur L. Smith of Delhi, LA, John Henry Smith of West Lake, LA; two sisters, Lois Lacy of Benton, LA, Marie McKinnie of Newport News, VA; sixteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Simms, Jim Hemphill, Keith Smith, Scott Candella, Ben Burnside, and Jay Simms.
