Funeral services for Mrs. Linnie W. Smith, age 85, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday January 19, 2007 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Roberts and Rev. Mike Chain officiating. Interment will follow in the New Forest Cemetery in West Carroll Parish. Visitation will be held Thursday evening at Golden Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m.
Mrs. Smith, a homemaker and a resident of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday January 17, 2007 at St. Francis North Hospital. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Carroll Smith; two sons, James Douglas Smith and Rodger Loyd Smith; grandson, Jarred Ray Hemphill; five sisters and one brother.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol S. Churchwell of Zachary, LA, Diane S. Simms & husband Johnny of Epps, LA, Sybil S. Hemphill & husband Jimmy of Bastrop; two sons, Arthur L. Smith of Delhi, LA, John Henry Smith of West Lake, LA; two sisters, Lois Lacy of Benton, LA, Marie McKinnie of Newport News, VA; sixteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Simms, Jim Hemphill, Keith Smith, Scott Candella, Ben Burnside, and Jay Simms.
