James & Fannie were the parents of James Bennett, Jr., Walter, Bessie, Mary Anna, Leroy, Gertrude and Fannie Harris. Their family moved from Wilmore to Louisville.
The Harris family was a hospitable one. Their large home became a sort of rooming house for their relatives who had traveled north, from Garrard and Jessamine Counties, to work in the factories in Louisville. Mrs. Harris put down firm roots in Louisville and spent the remainder of her life in that city.
