Ophelia "Felia" Smith married to Carolinas Boyd Kirk in Hopkins Co., TX 4 July 1892; married 2nd to Henry Gordon Fox 6 Jan 1903 in Hopkins Co., TX; married 3rd to Littleberry "Judge" Knox after 1940. Mother to 12 children. The first were Donie Elizabeth, James Matthew, Willie (William) Robert and Grace Kirk. The Fox children were: Glaucus, Ione, Lola, Eugene, Joseph, Fred, Marlin and Ruth.

Margo Harris, granddaughter of Ophelia Knox's sister Margaret, tells her memory of visiting the Knox home. "I remember going to Aunt Ophelia's house many times. Mama would bring Aunt Kate to visit her aunt. Sometimes Margie would come with us, and I would have a ball playing under the house. It was very high off the ground. Uncle Judge, her husband, was deaf so he just sat in the living room in a rocking chair and rocked. She had a real Victorola that you had to wind up to make it play the records. The speaker was a very large black horn which the sound came out of. It was so hot in the summer when we would go, we would sprinkle water on the feather beds to cool down so we could sleep. All the windows were open and I could hear the owls up in the trees hooting".
