Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Gardner Church of Christ at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery in Martin. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Murphy Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., or after 10:00 A.M. at the Gardner Church of Christ on Wednesday morning until funeral time at 11:00 A.M.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Smith; her parents, Jewel Gatewood and Nellie Wren Gatewood; two sisters, Mary Ellevan and Wanda Sue Gatewood; one brother, Jerrolee Gatewood.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Paula Smith Hauhe (Denny) Rorer of Martin, her brother, Carl Gatewood of Troy, TN; two granddaughters, Robin Hauhe (Brandon) Young of Germantown, TN and Christin Hauhe (Chris) Gray of Jackson, TN; two great-grandchildren, Jude Young and Perry Wren Gray.
Mrs. Smith retired from Martin Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Gardner Church of Christ.
