Cumberland - Fred W. Adams, 72, retired farmer, died suddenly at 11:45 a.m. today at his home here from a heart attack. No funeral arrangements have been made. Mr. Adams was born Aug. 22, 1873, the son of Eli and Emma Adams, in Ringgold County. When he was a small boy he came with his parents to Cass County and had resided in the County most of the time since. He attended the public schools near Cumberland and was married March 4, 1896, to Nora Howell near Cumberland. They spent most of their married life in Cass County as farmers. Three years ago they retired. Surviving are the widow; six children: Mrs. Nellie Shepherd of Cumberland; Mrs. Ethel Shepherd of Lewis; Mrs. Hazel Finkle, of Corning; Floyd Adams, Corning; Roy Adams, Des Moines, and Mrs. Hallie McManus at Red Oak; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Martha Marsh of Lewis and Mrs. Nellie Cole in Kansas.
