Clayton Albert Murray Jr died at his home in Claremont, NH on January 17, 1970. He was born on February 14, 1915 in Lisbon, NH; the son of Clayton and Jessie (Wood) Murray.

He had been a resident of Claremont for thirty one years. He was an employee of Dartmouth Woolen Mill for the past two years and was former employed at Jones and Lamson Machine Co in Springfield, VT for fourteen years. He operated two gasoline service stations in Claremont and also worked at Rogers Motors, Norman Brothers Bakery, Cross Baking Co and Quinn Freight Lines on a part time basis.

He married Anita Mae Leckner on December 16, 1936 in Montpelier, VT.

Survivors include his wife; four sons Robert Murray, Douglas Murray, Jerry Murray and Jackie Murray all of Claremont; eight daughters Margaret Murray, Shirley Murray, Sheila Murray, Joan Murray, Elizabeth Gierke, Vickie Murray, Glenora Murray, and Gail Patten all of Claremont; two brothers Chauncy Murray of Concord, MA and Keith Murray of Berlin, VT; one sister Helen Austin of Moretown, VT; one stepsister Elizabeth Lamphere of Calais, VT; and two grandsons.

Burial is in Mtn View Cemetery.
