She was born August 14, 1894 in the town of Almon, the daughter of the late William Leiskau and Anna (Wickman) Leiskau, Birnamwood.
On November 20, 1913 Alma was united in marriage to Peter Thiex in the town of Almon. He survives.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include one daughter, Dewella (Gordon) Svendsen, Shawano; four sons, Dorven (Mable) Thiex, Arnie (Wanda) Thiex, Charlie (Ruth) Thiex, all of Bowler and Milan (Carmen) Thiex, Birnamwood; 19 grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Leiskau, Antigo, Edward Leiskau, Milwaukee and Arthur (Gladys) Leiskau, Wittenberg; and three sisters, Amelia Treptow, Bowler, Clara Dahl, Clintonville and Louise (Joe) Long, Wittenberg.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Susan Thiex.
Funeral services were held December 30, 1964 at St. John Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. The Rev. Roy Reierson officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
