Eleanor E. "Charlie" Thiex, age 68, Antigo, died Sunday, December 15, 1991 at his home.

He was born June 14, 1923 in the town of Almon, the son of the late Peter and Alma (Leiskau) Thiex.

On April 26, 1947 Charlie was united in marriage to Ruth Umland in the town of Aniwa. She survives.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Michael (Judy) Thiex and Dennis Thiex, all of Birnamwood; one daughter, Patricia Thiex, Shawano; three brothers, Dorven (Mable), Arnie (Wanda), all of Bowler and Milan (Carmen), Birnamwood; one sister, Dewella Svendsen, Shawano; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special friends, Carol, Tom and Sandy Franzen.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by two sons, Dean and Ronald, and one daughter, Nancy Low.

Funeral services were held December 19, 1991 at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. The Rev. Charles Hoffman officiated. Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Birnamwood.
