OBIT 1:

BATHURST, HAZEL E., a resident of 1701 Central Avenue, McKinleyville, died November 23, 1972. Wife of A. J. (Slim) Bathurst of McKinleyville, daughter of the late Emma Magoon, sister of Lowell Magoon of Chico, and Tyna Rimbey of West Haven, aunt of Tynalee Masters and Judy Gillispie of McKinleyville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Chico and La Habra.

Mrs. Bathurst has been in business in Humboldt County over 27 years, and before that time was in business in Chico for a number of years. A native of Gaston, Oregon. Aged 69.

Services will be held at Pauls Funeral Chapel in McKinleyville, Monday, November 27, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Dean Lindquist officiating. Casket bearers will be Orville Wrist, Homer Montgomery, Richard Smith, Glenn Provenmire, Vince Maghetti, and Tazie Gaskill. Services will also be held at the Brusle Funeral Home in Chico, Tuesday, November 28 at 2 p.m. Interment at the Paradise Cemetery.

Friends may call at Pauls Chapel in McKinleyville, Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Brusie Funeral Home for Hazel E. Bathurst, 69, a former Chico resident who died in McKinleyville Thursday [November 23, 1972]. Services will also be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Paul’s McKinleyville Chapel.

She was born in Gaston, Oregon, Jan 16, 1903, and came to Chico as a child. She was in business here for many years and then for 25 years at Clam Beach and later in McKinleyville.

She is survived by her husband, A. J. “Slim” Bathurst of McKinleyville; a brother, Lowell Magoon of Chico; and a sister, Tyna Rimbey of Westhaven.

Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery with Orville Rist, Keith Straughan, Don Cummings, Ernest Smith, Clyde Bowman and Gil Venos as pallbearers.
