Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock for Elias Sykes, 81 year old resident of Cayuaga who died at the home of his sister, Miss Addie Murdock, Sunday morning. The Rev. Everett Gerard officiated at the services which were held form the Watson Funeral Home.

A retired farmer, the deceased was the son of Jessie and Mary Ann Bish Sykes. He was born in Wayne county and would have been 82 years of age next April 7.

The deceased is survived by a sister, Mrs. Clara Hollingsworth, of Georgetown, Ill.; one brother, Annuel of Cayuaga; two half-sisters, Mrs Addie Murdock and Mrs. Stella Arrasmith of Cayuage; two sons, Bert of Horseshoe and Frank of Newport.
