Mary Evelyn Velotta, 66, of 2632 Sunset Drive, Owensboro, died Friday, November 28, 1997, at McCurdy Health Systems in Evansville. She was born in Daviess County, was a homemaker and was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Nick Velotta Jr.; a son, Mark Allen Velotta of Bowling Green; a daughter, Sandra Whitehouse of Philpot; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Roberts and John Roberts, both of Owensboro; and a sister, Virginia Payne of Owensboro. Services are at noon Monday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today and from 9-11:30 a.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
