Mrs. Lola Mae Palmer
Lola Mae Holmes was born on September 4, 1880, at Percival, Iowa, daughter of Andrew and Amanda Holmes, and passed away at the Marysville, Kans. Community Memorial Hospital at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 2 days.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Chester for many years, and after making her home in Marysville she transferred her membership to the Christian Church there.
She was united in marriage to Edson Palmer on November 15, 1899, and to this union was born nine children. Her husband and one son, Marion, preceded her in death.
Those surviving are Clarence of Chester, Mildred Swaney of Hebron, Clifford of DeSmet, S.D., Nellie Throm and Viola Throm of Marysville, Kans., Delcie Nitcher of Lime Springs, Iowa, Ruth Ollette of Ypsilanti, Mich., Grayce Sterba of Wichita, Kans., and Duane Palmer; a grandson whom she had raised; also 27 other grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
Chapel services were held at Marysville, Kans. Monday, October 9, 1961, conducted by Rev. Gerald Housh. Memorial services were held at the Chester Christian Church that afternoon with Rev. Paul Wickenkamp in charge. Burial was made in the Chester Cemetery.
