Lant McKnown [sic], formerly of this community, passed away in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Louis Bean in Sacramento, Calif., Tuesday, June 8.
Mr. McKnown, the son of Hugh B. and Elizabeth Bouton McKnown, was born in Jubilee township in 1863. He married Susan Harriett Moffitt, February 7, 1894. Mrs. McKnown died in 1929. They lived for a time in Dakota, moving later to Minnesota, where he resided until he went to Sacramento to be near his daughter.
Mr. McKown is survived by his two daughters, Mrs. Louis Bean and Mrs. Stella Whitter [sic], who with her husband, Rev. Chester E. Whitter, is engaged in missionary work with headquarters at Cameron [sic], West Africa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Mrs. Lois Beall, Mrs. Lena Miller, Mrs. Stella Graves and Miss Emma McKnown.
