Arthur Poundstone
Arthur POUNDSTONE, 59, former superintendent of the Rochester city water works, died Saturday at his home at 1033 Garfield street, Hobart. He had resided in the Hobart area for the past 17 years, being employed by the Gary-Hobart Water corporation.
He left the post of water works superintendent here in 1957 to move to the Hobart area.
Born Aug. 26, 1914, he was the son of Arthur and Effie POUNDSTONE. His wife is the former Dorothy LEMAN of this city. She survives.
Mr. Poundstone was a member of the American Legion post of Rochester, First United Methodist church of Hobart, was past president of the Hobart Lions club and belonged to the Rochester Masonic lodge, Royal Arch Masons, Scottish Rite of South Bend, Orak Temple of Hammond, Hobart Shrine club and the American Water Works association.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Esther JOHNSON, Grove, Okla., and Mrs. Allie FOWLER, Buena Vista, Colo.; three nieces; one nephew, and an uncle, W. O. POUNDSTONE, Hooper, Neb.
Rites will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Rees funeral home in Hobart with the Rev. Donald WEAVER officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home today until 9 p.m.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Masonic lodge building fund of Rochester or to the coronary care unit of Hobart Mercy hospital.
