Allie Elizabeth Fowler of Holyoke was born August 24, 1909 on a farm north of Joplin, Missouri to Arthur and Effie Poundstone. She died July 28, 1995 at the age of 85.

Allie attended teachers' college in Pittsburg, Kansas and taught school until her marriage in 1932 to J. William Fowler. To this union were born two daughters.

After World War II started, the family moved to Wichita, Kansas. After the war they moved to Denver and enjoyed fishing trips to the mountains. After retirement, they moved to Buena Vista where they lived for 20 years. Due to ill health, in 1987 they moved to Holyoke to be closer to family.

Allie was active in church activities all her life and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Preceding her in death were her husband, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include daughters Ann Bird of Holyoke and Nancy Kay Martin and husband Kent of Rocky Ford; grandchildren Susan Haskell and husband Randy and Cindy Lock and husband Ron of Holyoke, Charla Salvador and husband Brett of Yuma, Kendra Nancock of Montevideo, Uruguay, South America, Karla Kurtz and husband Randy and Reed Martin and wife Annette of Rocky Ford; and 12 great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, August 1, 1995 at Holyoke Memorial Park with Jim Mort officiating.
