Kokomo Tribune - Tuesday, February 4, 1941:

Mrs. Mahala E. Tomlinson, 77, of South Main Street, died at 10 o'clock Monday night at a nursing home of complications from which she had been suffering for several months. She was born February 9, 1863 in Penfield, Illinois, and came to Kokomo with her husband, John R. Tomlinson, in 1917.

Surviving are the husband, one son, George M. Tomlinson of Kokomo; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Walker residing in West Sycamore Pike; and two brothers, Clinton Chenoweth of Rankin, Illinois, and Alfred Chenoweth of Kankakee, Illinois.

She was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Rich Chapel and Darris Gunther of Kokomo will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
