The Son of William Chenoweth and Elizabeth Morgan, William was born 02 Jun 1833 in Fayette Co., OH where his parents married and lived before moving west to Vermilion Co., IL. William C married Elizabeth Jane Critton, the d/o Isaac Drake Critton and Mahala Zucck, on 18 Dec 1856 in Danville. They had 12 children: Mary, John, Thomas, Mahala, William, Clinton, Charles, Alfred, Robert, Sarah, Wesley and an unnamed daughter,
