Edna A. Brummett, 92, of Arlington, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002.

Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 5, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, with the Rev. Lynn Martin officiating. Interment was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Edna A. Brummett was born Aug. 16, 1910, in Pender to Wallace and Amelia (Martin) Shadbolt. She grew up at Ponca and graduated from Ponca High School. She attended Wayne State College for one year.

She moved to Arlington in 1936 and worked at the former Weber's Store in Arlington for three years. She did babysitting for a number of area families.

On Nov. 12, 1939, she married Cephas Brummett at Ponca.

Mrs. Brummett was a member of the Arlington Community Church, and taught Sunday School.

She moved to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair, and then to the Pathfinder House in Fremont in 1999. She has been residing at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home since July 2002.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sue Brummett of Omaha; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Merle Larkin, and Ruth and Walter Hiesrote, all of South Sioux City, and Florence Geritsen of Omaha; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; six brothers, Roy, John, Albert, Clarence, Harry and Walter; and three sisters, Grace Keene, Hazel Johnson and Pearl Shadbolt.

Memorials are suggested to Arlington Community Church.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
