Doris was the daughter of James C. & Gladys Jackson Sr. She was married to Hallie Harkness Jr. for 55 years. He preceded her in death in 1997, as did their son, Roger. in 1983. Doris is survived by her daughter, Mary Skuse; daughter-in-law Judy Harkness; grandchildren, Ann (William) Trueworthy, Jay Harkness and Karla Harkness; great-grandchildren Rhiannon Skuse, Michael Skuse and Robyn Trueworthy.
Doris attended Mason Public Schools. She worked with her husband in their accounting business, 'Harkness Accounting'. She was a long time member and former secretary of the First Presbyterian Church of Mason. Doris enjoyed music and baking.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Debember 1, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in Mason. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemtery, Mason. Friends and family were received at the funeral home on Monday and Tuesday. A request was made that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hospice Stoneleigh Residence in Lansing, where Doris had been living.
