FREMONT, NE:
Services for Carl H Brokaw, 91, Arlington, were Saturday, June 10, at Moser Memorial Chapel here. The Rev. Lynn Martin officiated with burial in Prospect View Cemetery at Pierce. He died Wednesday, June 7, 2000 at his home.

The son of Obadia D and Emma A (Schlote) Brokaw was born Dec 28, 1908, at Plainview and grew up in that area. He farmed at Center until moving to Verdel, where he worked for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

He married Dorothy Sexton on March 19, 1949, at Stanton, Nebraska. The couple lived in Beemer, Stanton and Nickerson, where he worked for area farmers for many years. He later farmed for Ray Harmon Farms for 23 years at Fontanelle.

Survivors include his wife; four sons and their wives, Terry and Winnie of Arlington, Melvin Sr and Delva of Wisner, Dennis and Shirley of San Diego, Calif, and Eldean and Lou Brokaw of Missouri, two daughters and their husbands Verletta and Duane Petersen of Plainview and Shirley and Lyle Ronk of Pilger; one stepdaughter Lenice Carr of Fremont; 26 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and an infant sister.
