Clarence W Sholtz
Clarence Wilford Sholtz, son of William and Mary Sholtz, was born November 6, 1902 near Burr Oak, Kansas. He passed away on September 16, 1977 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Clarence was married to Edna Hummell on December 30, 1926 at Mankato, Kansas. To this union three children were born, Clarence Wilford Sholtz Jr., Dean Sholtz and Dorothy. He was preceded in death by his son Junior, a granddaughter, his parents and a brother, Elmer. He is survived by his wife Edna, son Dean of Guide Rock, and daughter, Dorothy of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a brother, Wilbur of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and sister, Dora Payne of Guide Rock, and brother George of Guide Rock also survive.
Clarence worked for the city of Mankato Kansas for five years. The remaining years he farmed near Guide Rock.
The funeral was held on Monday, September 19, from the Simonson Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. E.E. Cummings officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs Louise Eldred, soloist, accompanied by Mrs Betty Rasser, organist.
Pallbearers were Rick Sholtz, Mark Sholtz, Brad Sholtz, Scott Sholtz, Robert Brooks and Gary Brooks.
Interment was in the Guide Rock Cemetery.
