RICHMOND HILL - Roy Lee Williams, age 77, died on November 13, 2009. Roy was born in Clyde, GA on September 27, 1932, to the late Fred Williams and Lottie Cribbs Williams. Later the Williams family moved to Richmond Hill where he remained for the rest of his life with the exception of time in the U. S. Army and two years in Augusta, GA. He attended the Richmond Hill schools graduating in the class of 1953. He joined the U.S. Army upon graduation and served the majority of his time in Orleans, France. Upon returning to Richmond Hill, he acquired a job with Pittsburgh Paint and Glass Company working in the warehouse and worked his way to manager of the paint store, before he retired after 32 years. The company later became PPG Industries. He then worked for Peacock Paints as store manager for three years. Upon leaving the paint business, Roy drove a school bus for the Bryan County School System for eleven years. Roy was a 50+ member of the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church. He was a founding member of the young adults and couples Sunday School Class which later became the Fishermans Class. He was a member of the R. H. Jaycees and the R. H. Ford's Bucks and Does Square Dance Club. Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Rushing and brothers, Connie and Redge Williams. Roy and Sammie were married on May 9, 1959 and celebrated their 50th anniversary on May 9, 2009 with family and friends. Survivors: wife, Addie B. "Sammie" Williams; daughters, Teresa Guidry (Kent) of Lafayette, LA, and Diane Wright (Billy) of Brooklet, GA; grandchildren, Jason Carpenter (Christie), Joshua Carpenter (Jade) and Jeni Wright of Brooklet, GA, Benjamin White, Adam White and Jacob Daigle of Baton Rouge, LA; great-grandchildren, Samantha Carpenter and Jason Michael Carpenter of Brooklet, GA; brother, Hubert Williams, Barnesville, GA; niece and caregiver, Mildred Hilliard and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2009, Richmond Hill Funeral Home. Services: 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2009, Richmond Hill United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bill Strickland, Rev.
