Kate A Gould
The death of Kate A Gould occurred at Cape Cod Hospital, where she had been a patient for seven weeks, on Thursday of last week.
She was the daughter of Mehitable and William Augustus Gould. And was fifty-nine years old. Her father died when she was very young and her mother married Kimball Howes, the daughter then being about four years old. They formed a family peculiarly devoted to each other for more than 50 years;the break coming four years ago with the death of Mrs. Howes followed two years later by that of Mr Howes.
Miss Gould was one of the early librarians of the Eldredge Public Library and at one time was active in the affairs of the Congregational Church.Never in robust health, she has for many years lived a retired life with her interests centered in genealogy,in the care of heirlooms and in her garden. Summer always found her working among the plants and taking great pride and pleasure in the blooms...
She leaves no close relatives, the nearest being four cousins living in North Carolina. Two of these cousins drove on to attend the funeral, driving night and day to reach here in time.
The services were held from her home on Sunday afternoon and were conducted by Rev Cross of Orleans, with solos by Mr Phillips of Dennisport.Interment was to the family plot in Union Cemetery.
Mr and mrs Watts of Weston were among the friends who gathered for the last service.
Miss Gould has bequeathed $2500. to the Eldredge Public Library and has given to the town the lot of land fronting on Main Street and Ocean Avenue to be used as a park. Many of her heirlooms are to go to the Boston Museum.
Mr and Mrs Luther Coombs are living in Miss Kate Gould's house for the present as caretakers of the property. They have assumed during the past Winter many of the duties that befall relatives and were able to be of much comfort to Miss Gould

A Tribute
A slight tribute of remembrance of my dear friend Miss Kate Augustina Gould, whom I shall sadly miss as time carries me on.She has passed from the earth-life,beginning the spiritual life with her dearest friends,in some service of love to our Lord.
A loyal friend, useful in life's ways from an honest heart and a thinking mind.A lover of the good and true and beautiful. She will be missed by many. The sick will miss the lovely bouquets from her wonderful flower garden.
Let us who love her, rejoice with her in her new found happiness in a home that will delight her sense of beauty, and with service adapted to her enjoyment.
For a little time I bid her farewell.
