THE TOMB
On the 30th ult., near Middleburg, Miss REBECCA JANE, daughter of Wm. and Catharine Layman, aged 17 years, 4 months and 13 days. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self, with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. - John XVI, V
The deceased was highly respected throughout the community for her upright and moral conduct, chaste in all her actions and conversations, which won for her a name long to be cherished by all who knew her. Her loss will be regretted by a large connection of friends and acquaintances throughout the country. Though the stroke was severe in severing her from her parents, whose next to life she was, it was we hope the admission of an angel soul to Heaven.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
- Col. III, IV.
