Edmund Adolph Pimpler, 95 of Cameron, died Sept. 4, 2009 in a Temple retirement community. Funeral services were Tuesday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. James T. Wheeless officiating. Burial was in the Ben Arnold Cemetery in Ben Arnold.
Pimpler, a custom-home builder, having owned and operated a construction business, was born Oct. 14, 1913 in Falls County to Gustav and Martha Sitz Pimpler. He grew up and attended school in the Clarkson Community of Milam County. At a young age he was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. James Lutheran Church in the Vogelsang Community near Ben Arnold. He Married Anita Adler on November 11, 1936 at St. James Lutheran Church and she preceded him in death. Pimpler was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church of Ben Arnold where he served as treasurer and held various positions on the council. In addition to building, Mr. Pimpler was a farmer and rancher.
Three brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons Harold Gene Pimpler and wife Carol of Temple and Donald Ray Pimpler and wife Peggy of Cameron; grandaughter Sheila Pimpler Haddock and husband Keith of Houston; grandsons Donald Eric Pimpler and wife Shanon of San Antonio and Grant Allen Pimpler and wife Kristen of San Antonio; step-granddaughter Amy Colquette and husband Eric; and four great grandchildren, Hunter Haddock of Houston and Whitney, Elizabeth, and Jaxson Pimpler, all of San Antonio.
