Gladwyn Mae Moore

Gladwyn Mae Moore, of Abilene, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the age of 90. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church, with Rev. Greg Kennedy officiating. Arrangements were handled by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

October 1, 1918, Gladwyn was born in Carpio, North Dakota to Lennie Nyre and Eunice (Besteland) Nyre. In August of 2007, Gladwyn moved to Abilene from Loveland, Colorado. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Gladwyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martelle S. Moore, one son, Steven Ellis Anderson, three sisters, one brother and one grandson. Gladwyn is survived by three sons and two daughters: Charles Doug Anderson, of Fresno, California; Terre Gilbert Anderson, of St. George, Utah; Kathryn Jean Moore Kuske, of Plymouth, Minnesota; Robert Scott Moore, of Yuma, Colorado and Tina Marie Moore Cross, of Abilene. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kelly Cassinderio, Amy Rissman, Karlee Hofer, Becky Muck, Alicia Anderson, Peyton Hansen, Beth Hansen and Troy Hofer; two sisters, Eldrice Johnson, of Minot, North Dakota and Carol Tomlinson of Richland, Washington; 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Food Pantry in care of Grace United Methodist Church, 1402 Grape Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
