WILLIAM FREDERICH THIELEN
William Theilen was born March 26, 1882, in Portland, Oregon, and while an infant came with his parents to Nebraska, settling in Lancaster county, where he grew up to young manhood.
In the year 1915 William Theilen came to Franklin county, settling north of Naponee, which place became his home when in the year 1922 he entered the holy estate of matrimony with Amanda Jonas. In this marriage he proved himself a faithful husband and provider. However, since the past twelve years he had been subject to heart trouble but only the past year had he not been able to perform necessary work. When some months ago he was placed under the physician's care the seriousness of his condition was realized, of which he was well aware. It was during this time that his paster could remind him of his baptism and the renewal of his covenant with God in confirmation, and finaly believing that the Saviors death and resurrection by his forgiveness and make an heir of heaven, he lapsed into unconsciousness, and early Sunday morning his redeemed soul was taken to the heavenly mansion in Father's home. Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord. He reached the age of 56 years, 7 mo. and 18 days.
Those who survive are his loving wife, Mrs. Amelia Theilen, his aged father, John Theilen, his sisters Mrs. Hannah Olson, Miss Lena Theilen of Bloomington, and Mrs. Mathelda Bruns, of Mable Rock, Ia., his father-in-law, three sisters in law, two Brothers-in law and many friends.
Services were held Tuesday at 1:30 at the home and 2 p. m. at St. Matthews Ev. Lutheran church at Naponee Rev. R. R. Shultz officiating.
A quartette of Wlather League members rendered hymns in the church service.
