Amanda Ella Jonas was born in a dug-out on what is known as the Croley place north of Naponee. She was married to William F. Theilen on October 4, 1911 at Minden, Nebraska. William Theilen was born on March 26, 1882. He died on November 13, 1937. She then moved in with her father until his death on December 20, 1941. She moved to Naponee, Nebraska in the spring of 1942. It was there that she met and married Arthur Riley. They were married on December 12, 1943. After his death, she remained living in Naponee.
We remember her as Aunt Amanda. We would go to Naponee with George and Hattie Schnuerle to visit her. She had no children.
