She was born March 11, 1921 to Albert C. and Crescenz Deiterman of Tours. She graduated from West High School and was a beatician from 1940 until she married Robert Altus of Leroy in 1944.
After her husband retired from the Air Force in 1964, they settled in Oregon. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Stitch and Chatter Club in Sheridan. She enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Robert Altus; two sons, David Altus of Columbia, South Carolina and Mark Altus of Sheridan, Oregon; two daughters, Mary Britt of Beaver Creek Oregon and Cecilee Ladd of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Bill Deiterman of Lorena, and Clement J. Deiterman of West; a sister, Emma Holecek of West (Tours); seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Robert Wayne Altus, died during military service in Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force at the age of 25 while piloting an F4 aircraft.
Services were December 2 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with interment in Green Crest Memorial Park in Sheridan. Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
