PIONEER OF HEBRON DIES

Mrs. Diantha Rice, widow of Parker (Doc) Rice, and at one time a resident of Valparaiso, died Tuesday at 2:35 pm at her home in Hebron. She had been ill for more than a year, but was only bedfast the last three weeks.

Mr. Rice was 75 years of age, having been born at Hebron on November 17, 1854. Mr. Rice died three years ago.

Surviving are a niece, Miss Dora Osborn, of Valparaiso, and Harry Meeks, also of Valparaiso. The latter has been assisting in caring for his aunt during her illness.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 pm, standard time, at the Hebron Christian church conducted by Rev. H.H. Williams. Burial will be in Hebron cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Diantha Rice was held at the Christian church at 3:30 on Thursday afternoon (July 25, 1929), conducted by H. H. Williams. The pallbearers were Andrew Gidley, Andress Crawford, Roy Rathburn, Harry Folsom, John DeCook, Geo. Gidley, Will Brown, Grover Wilson. Interment was made in Hebron cemetery.
