Glenda DeRoche Barker, 86, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls after a short illness.
She was born August 21, 1922, in Corral, Idaho, to Leo Edward DeRoche and Gladys Mary Kinghorn DeRoche. She attended schools in Rigby.
On June 21, 1941, she married Lloyd Barker. In 1954, their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They raised three children together.

Glenda was a mother and a homemaker. She also worked in potato processing.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, making gingerbread houses and spending time with all her family. She loved to garden and especially enjoyed her beautiful flowers.

Survivors include her children, T. Lloyd (Janice) Barker and Marsha (Terry) Christensen, both of Idaho Falls, and Lynn C. (Kyung Ran) Barker of Riverside, California; siblings, Ray (Arlene) DeRoche of Blackfoot, Donna Johnson and Eileen Munford, both of Idaho Falls, and Leah Brosie of Lewisville; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; four brothers; a sister; and a grandson.

The family wishes to express its gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls for the excellent and professional care Glenda received.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Idaho Falls LDS Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Michael Hays officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
