Jerome Becker, one of the oldest pioneers of Nemaha County, died in Seneca, last week. Mr. Becker was born during the administration of the fifth president of the United States, James Monroe. He rode on the first railroad built in the United States, the Baltimore and Ohio, when it was first opened. He was the father of twelve children, eleven of whom still live. Mr. Becker was 81 years old (should read 91 yrs old), and even in this last few days of his life, he loaded his carriage with young folks, and went on a fishing trip to the Nemaha.
