Nellie Barker Smith, age 79, died Friday, June 26, 2009, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
She was a member of the Marion First Church of God and retired from Harwood Manufacturing after 42 years of service. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane S. Eller of Marion, Va.; two sisters, Allene Roop and husband Howard of Bristol Virginia, Goldie Carpenter and husband Coy of Marion, Va.; two grandchildren, Richard K. Keesling Jr. of Marion, Va., and Paula Harvey and husband Rocco of Cookeville, Tenn.; one great-grandchild, Kyleigh E. Harvey; special friend, James Cline of Marion, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and special pet, LeeRoy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 27, 2009, at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. Bill McCollian officiating. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
