Richfield Springs NY Mercury 1971-1972 - Mrs. Arthur Hopkinson, 93, died in Danbury, Conn., on Saturday, October 14, following a long period of declining health. Elizabeth C. Frear was born in the Town of Litchfield on June 18, 1879, a daughter of Sumner and Agnes J. Roberts Frear. She attended schools in West Winfield and married Alvin Getman in Millers Mills where he operated a farm. He died in 1908 and in 1917 she married Arthur Hopkinson of South Columbia. They lived in South Columbia where Mr. Hopkinson operated a farm and a general store. He died in 1963 and Mrs. Hopkinson went to Danbury, Conn., to live with her daughter, Mrs. Everett Seidel. Mrs. Hopkinson was the oldest living member of the Millers Mills Baptist Church. Beside her daughter she is survived by two stepsons, Harold and Leon Hopkinson of Richfield Springs. Her funeral was held October 17 from the McGrath Funeral Home. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs, N.Y.
