The Cherokee Democrat - Wednesday , October 9th, 1895 - Dr. J.B. Ingels died at the asylum in Independence on Thursday last and the remains were brought to Meriden, his former home, for interment.
The funeral took place on Saturday. The deceased was born in Wabash county, Indiana, March 29, 1852. He was reared in the sate of Illinois, receiving his early education at LaFayette.
At the age of eighteen he began his classical education at Abingdon, Illinois, and after finishing there he entered upon the study of his profession at Bellevue Hospital Medical College New York city. After his graduation from this institution he went to Cambridge, Illinois, and remained there but a short time. He then removed to Galva, Illinois, and practiced there three years; thence in the spring of 1881 he came to Meriden.
Dr. Ingels was united in marriage, March 5, 1878, to Miss Allie Vaill.
