Short services were held at the Chapel Hall Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Joseph Silvia officiating. The body was then taken to Wright Graveyard at Sikes for the final rites.
She is survived by one son, Morris Erksine of Minden; two daughters, Mrs. Essie Gaar of West Monroe and Mrs. Ned Russell of Winnsboro, three brothers, Tom Thornton, Epps, Bill Thornton, Rayville, and Weaver Thornton, Washington, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. Millie Miller, Winnfield, 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Wilson Thorne, Sherman Martin, Robert West, Lloyd Willis, Ed Handry, and Calvin Henry.
