All that I post on findagrave has been a labor of love and required many years of research and hard labor. Please, ask before you take my photographs (this is a FAG rule). I would like you to give me credit using my name when you copy my genealogy postings and photographs.

If you take information that I have posted on my findagrave Memorials..... please, give me credit for my research.
Thank you! Shirley Ann Bennett Barham

William Thomas was the son of Joel M. and Martha R. Jones CHAFIN and the 2nd born of ten children.

William T. and Mary Ann Elizabeth Almand Chafin were married in Newton County, Georgia on the 14th of November 1850.

Together they had nine children: Nancy J, Seaborn A, Welcom U, Joel Stewart, Martha Rebecca, Johnnie, Dorothy, Ida Leora and Mamie CHAFIN.

The following was from the research files of
Liz Layson:
"The information was furnished to Ethel Elmina Pendley by Martha Rebecca Chafin Pendley on October 2, 1942.
William Thomas Chafin died of yellow jaudics in Rockdale County, Georgia. He was as farmer and fought in the Civil War, returned home uninjured. He was a low, broad, chucky man, strong and industrious. He was good-natured, cheerful, loved his friends, had no enemies, never spoke evil of anyone. He was a good provider for his family."
