Archie James Brewer, 56, of 1109 New Hampshire street, died at Muscatine General hospital.

Mr. Brewer, a carpenter, was born Jan. 10, 1903 at Rock Island, Ill., the son of Freeman and Sarah Essex Brewer. Most of his life had been spent in this community.

He was a member of the Moose lodge.

Survivors include his wife; a son Ralph J. Brewer of Davenport; two stepsons, Jerry Howard of Muscatine and Leroy Howard of Illinois; a daughter Mrs. Ralph Welsch of Muscatine; four stepdaughters Mrs. John Hidlebaugh, Mrs. Harold Neff, Mrs. Guy Yearington and Mrs. James Noble all of Muscatine; and four brothers Rufus, Donald and William Brewer of Muscatine and Walter Brewer of Joliet, Ill.
Two grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the George M. Wittich Funeral Home the
Rev. C. R. Gesell of Grace Lutheran church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. The body
will remain at the funeral home pending services.
