Gridley, her mother's family, is the link to the Fuller's on The Mayflower of 1620: Edward-Matthew-Samuel Sr, Samuel Jr, Elkanah-Mary (Timothy) Percival-Elizabeth Percival-(Asahel) Gridley-LydiaGridley-(Samuel) Beckworth/Beckwith- Euphemia. Being nearly the youngest of the Beckwith siblings, she would live the longest.

Some sources show that she was born in Boone Co, KY and others show it as Indiana and Illinois. Family lore is that her mother was vising cousin Dr. Jabez Percival in KY, when she gave birth. Her family, early settlers of Marshall Co., moved from New York to Ohio in 1820's to Hardinsburg, Dearborn Co, IN in early 1830's, then Marshall County abt 1833-4, ten years before her future husband's family. A couple of her brother's change surname spelling from Beckwith to "worth", why?
Her maternal uncle was the famous Asahel Gridley of Bloomington, IL, another reason her family moved to IL. Her ancestors stem from colonial days and served in the American Revolutionary War, which can be seen by following her ancestors back in time here on FAG.

Euphemia married Benjamin Hutchenson Croft (went by Hutcheson) on 22 Dec 1849 in Illinois. The couple had 5 children, all born in Marshall County, IL, where he was part owner of the Wenona bank, most successful in U.S. farm animal breeder and winner of fair competitions, and would own 5 farms (some original Beckwith farms) given to each of his children. Sadly, none of their children wanted to farm and moved into Henry or Varna.

Euphemia outlived her husband by 35 years, their Wenona farmhouse burned to the ground 2 years after his death, so she moved with newlywed son James fall 1888 to his leased farm near Magnolia, he moved to MO 1889 so
1891 she moved into Henry twsp. buying a house for $600 on Richard St, next to her daughter, then living in Henry abt 12 years.
1895 She purchased for $1000 the Catholic parsonage
By 1900 had moved to 58 School St., with grandaughter Euphemia "Euffie" Sinclair, 14yo
1904 Henry Euffie married to Edward SOPER at Euphemia home, was she forced? swindled and divorced MO by 1906
1910

When all her children had moved away to KS, NJ, and IN, she took married granddau. "Effie" Sinclair-Soper to live in Cameron or Shoal, Clinton Co., MO where her late sister, Lucinda Brown (d. by 1880), children lived. She purchased a butcher shop for her granddaughter's non-working husband, but he found a way to burn it to the ground for insurance funds and left town. They divorced and she married Omar Selle, the town Veterinarian, son of Gustav, gson of Henry who emigrated from Germany 1853), the couple lived many years near Cameron then moved to Marshfield, MO and buried there.

Euphemia died in MO, but was brought back to be buried with family in IL.
