Kenneth G. "Kenny" Costello
(May 3, 1941 - January 17, 2009)

Kenneth G. "Kenny" Costello, 67, of Ranson, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born May 3, 1941, in Jefferson County, he was the son of George W. Costello and Edith Gertrude (Tomlin) Costello.

Mr. Costello retired after 16 years from Dixie Narco as a supervisor and was employed for 10 years with Royal Vendors. He also worked at Sheetz Florist and Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home. Earlier, he was a meat cutter at Whites Market.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a 47 year member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 948, Charles Town, where he received his fellowship degree; a social member of Jackson-Perks American Legion Post No. 71, Charles Town; and a member of Citizens Fire Company, which he joined on Dec. 3, 1970.

He was an avid gardner and enjoyed baking and fishing.

He is survived by daughters, Charlotte McDaniel, of Martinsburg, and Cindy Getts and husband, Sonny, of Richlands, N.C.; son, Kenneth G. Costello Jr., of Philadelphia; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Gertrude V. Trussell, of Ranson; brother, George Ellis Costello and wife, Naomi, of Summit Point; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and former wife, Joyce Costello.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Costello; sister, Eleanor M. Wiley; and brother, Charles W. Costello.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, with Dr. Henry Christie officiating. Interment will be at Edge Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home.
