HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Eleanor May Wiley, 79, of Harpers Ferry, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born March 25, 1923, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Edith Gertrude Tomblin Costello.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Woodrow Wiley Sr.
She worked for the Jefferson County Board of Education as a cook at Blue Ridge Elementary School.
She was a member of Murrill Hill United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Women of the Moose 1048 and was affiliated with Citizens Fire Co.
She is survived by one son, Carl W. Wiley Jr. of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one daughter, Nancy M. Regester of Harpers Ferry; two brothers, George E. Costello of Summit Point, W.Va., and Kenny G. Costello of Ranson, W.Va.; one sister, Gertrude Trussell of Ranson; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles W. Costello.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson. The Rev. Donnie Cardwell will officiate. Burial will be in Murrill Hill Cemetery, Harpers Ferry.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Murrill Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Philip Boggs, Route 3, Box 228A, Charles Town, WV 25414.
