FATAL JUMP FROM A TRAIN
Young Brownhelm Man Struck A Bridge In The Dark
Brownhelm - a sad accident happened to Charles [sic: Peter] Miller at Brownhelm station Friday night at about eleven o'clock. In company with the station agent, Mr. Brown, he had attended the show in Elyria. They boarded a freight train for their return. The engineer was to slack up for them to get off, which he did, but Miller, living east of the station, jumped off at the bridge. In the dark, he landed against the end of the iron bridge, sustaining such injuries that he died Monday.
The deceased was about twenty years of age and lived with his mother, who is a widow. He was a quarryman. The funeral was held Wednesday.
