Services: Funeral service will be at 6:30 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Deron S. Cobb and Rev. Greg Long officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 12:00 PM, Friday, January 30, 2009 at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church Cemetery for the interment.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:30 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel.
Grace McDaniel Tipton of Rockford, left this earthly home on Monday, January 26, 2009 with the hope of a great family reunion in the house of the Lord with those that have gone on before. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Knoxville. She graduated from Lenoir City High School and Knoxville General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. After graduation, she worked for five years at Mountain Home Veterans Hospital in Johnson City, TN. She then moved back to Blount County and did private duty nursing at Blount Memorial Hospital. She married her husband William E. Tipton in Johnson City, TN on June 30, 1951 by Rev. Paul Worley. Preceded in death by: Parents, Charlie Lee McDaniel and Tabitha Barger McDaniel; Brothers and Sisters, Annie Ault, Charles Raymond McDaniel, Tennie Palmer, Barbara Jean Kegley, Aillean Clotfelter. Survivors include: Husband, William E. Tipton; Son & Daughter-in-law, Charles (Chuck) & Lisa Tipton of Townsend; Grandchildren, Johnathan Tipton & Krista Grace Tipton of Townsend; Sister, Hazel Newton; Brother-in-law, Richard Kagley of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 6:30 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Deron S. Cobb and Rev. Greg Long officiating.
