Eivind Skreland, 84, died on Saturday, September 14, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services were held on Skreland, Eivind Tuesday, September 17 at Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee with Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Marian Marquis was the organist. Casketbearers were Clark Sorenson, Irvin Flatgard, Harold Skreland, Lowell Westberg, Wayne Tronnes and Marshall Westberg. Interment was in Salem Church Cemetery with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post of Plummer.

Eivind Skreland was born on November 23, 1917, the son of Osov and Anne (Heistad) Skreland. He was raised in rural Oklee. On August 12, 1941, he entered the United States Army and was honorable discharged on November 14, 1945. He returned to Oklee and farmed his entire life.

Eivind enjoyed farming, fixing his machinery, playing the violin, reading and visiting with friends, family and neighbors.

Survivors include seven nieces and nephews.

Eivind was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Mary Engebretson, Torbjor Skreland, Marie Hegland, Christine Westberg and an infant sister, Mary; and three brothers, Taraal, Gunsten and Knute.
