Mrs. Letta Katon, 66, Odell route 2,, died at St. James hospital at 1:20 p.m. Saturday after an illness of two weeks.
Her body was taken to the Raleigh J. Harris funeral home. Her funeral will be in Tipton, Ind.
She was born Oct. 31, 1892, in Brownstown, a daughter of Albert E. and Olive (Lee) Smith. She attended school at Brownstown and came to rural Odell in May, 1949, where she lived with her brother.
She was married to Harry Powell. He died in 1918, and she was married to John Katon. He died in 1945.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lorena Michel, Tipton, Ind.; two brothers, Lloyd Smith, Odell, and Glenn Smith, St. Elmo; two grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
She was a member of the West Street Christian church, Tipton, Ind.
