THE PARIS NEWS, Oct. 14, 2002:

Jimmy Claud Ausmus, 71, of Paris died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at his home. Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Butler officiating. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born on Feb. 12, 1931, in Paris, a son of Johnny 'LD' and Valarie Cochran Ausmus. He was a veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, 'Little' John William Freeman; and a brother, Charlie Mack Ausmus.

Survivors include three children, James Lee Ausmus and wife, Kathi, Patricia Ann Ausmus and Steve Claud Ausmus; the mother of his children, Mildred Lea Ausmus; grandchildren, James Clayton Ausmus, Kathy Lea Ausmus, James Lee Ausmus II, Felicia Ann Wilson, Charles Lewis Nichols, Jacob Wayne Wilson, Sasha Dawn Wilson, Ticia Deanna Alexander, Angela Mae Ausmus, Wendy Todd; brothers, James Earl, LeRoy and Lewis Ausmus; sisters, Maggie Ruth Kelley and Johnny Mae Reyna; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Edward French, Daniel Christopher, Charlie Wilson, Carl Nichols, Charles Lewis Nichols and Roy Spears.
