The grave stone next to that of Vernon D. Gunn is probably that of his brother Burrell G. Gunn who died Alexandria, Virginia in the Civil War on 24 August 1864. He was first buried in the National Cemetery in Philadelphia and later moved to his family plot in Michigan.
